Lunch & Learn: Mitigating Errors During the Procedure Review Process

During our Lunch & Learn series on November 2, 2023, our Founder, Steve McCord, discussed mitigating errors during the procedure review process. Steve shared OSHA’s recommendations for process safety management and how you can effectively apply these guidelines in procedure reviews. He emphasized the critical aspects of verification and validation — the assurance that a procedure is not only technically accurate but also practical for real-world use.

Steve used the BP DeepWater Horizon blowout as an example of what can go wrong when procedures are not adequately reviewed and human-factored.
